The Society of Cambridge Youths are excited to be hosting the Final of the National 12-Bell Striking Contest on Saturday 23rd June 2018, when ten bellringing teams from across the country compete for the Taylor Trophy. The ringing will take place in Great St Mary’s Church in the beautiful centre of Cambridge, with ringers from far and wide congregating on the iconic Senate House Lawn directly opposite the church. Food from local providers and drink including specially-brewed beer will be available throughout the day.

Nineteen teams from across the country entered 2018's Contest. The first round of the contest, the eliminators, were held in Ossett, Selby and Southwell on Saturday 24th March 2018. The top three teams from each eliminator will join Cambridge in the Final, so the competing teams in June will be:

The Ancient Society of College Youths
The Society of Royal Cumberland Youths
St Paul's Cathedral Guild

See the 12-Bell website for more information about the teams and their history. Each of the teams will be practising on the GSM bells in the months before the competition - see the Practices page to find out when you can hear them!

The ringing and results will be streamed live from the church for the benefit of ringers around the globe, in an all-day live broadcast including interviews and commentary. But the Cambridge ringers are looking forward to putting their stamp on what is always a great day out for everyone, even if you’re not ringing, so put the date in your diary and make sure you join us for a historic day celebrating ringing in Cambridge! Best of luck to all teams competing!
