Accommodation and Travel

If you are planning on spending a night or two in Cambridge there are plenty of hotels and B&Bs within walking distance of Great St Mary’s. However, be aware that it is graduation season – early booking is recommended.

Travel by train

Great St Mary’s is a half-hour walk from Cambridge Station (please note that you should get trains to Cambridge and NOT to Cambridge North!). Taxis are available and buses (Citi 1, 3 and 7) will take you to St Andrew’s Street in the city centre.

There will be free parking available on the Sidgwick Site ('A' on the map below; the site contains over a hundred spaces) for the practices and on the day of the contest. This will be on a first-come-first-served basis, therefore cannot be guaranteed. The car park postcode is CB3 9DA, and walking directions to Great St Mary's ('B') are shown on the map below. Or you may wish to consider Cranmer Road or Herschel Road to the west of the city centre, where parking is limited but free.

The photo on the right shows the car park entrance, despite its unwelcoming sign!

There are five Park & Ride stations around Cambridge - information can be found on their website.
